Site Security
Your Information Is Safe
CAP uses technology that ensures your organization and payment information is kept confidential and secure.
When you provide CAP with any personal information - your name, mailing address, email address, etc. - it's done on a secure server. One of today's most advanced security systems - Secure Socket Layers (SSL) - encrypts all information you provide before sending it to our own server. Only when it reaches the CAP servers is your information decrypted.
Encryption is a means of scrambling information for transmission, in this case, between your PC and CAP's computing systems. Information that is encrypted at one end is decrypted (decoded) upon receipt at the other end.
128-bit encryption is the strongest, most secure form of encryption that is generally available in Internet browsers on the market today. CAP recommends that its clients use 128-bit encryption when conducting financial transactions over the Internet. We also recommend the use of 128-bit encryption for all non-financial transactions.
The level of encryption you use depends on the browser you select. Here are your choices:
- 128-bit Netscape Navigator/Communicator (available in version 3.0 or higher for both PC or Macintosh)
- 128-bit Microsoft Internet Explorer (available in version 3.0 or higher for Windows, version 4.5 or higher for Macintosh)
"Internet commerce is no more prone to fraud than other types of payment mechanisms." - Canadian Bankers Association
